Mercury Repower

A complete Mercury repower: the old outboard out, new Mercury power rigged, programmed and tested before the boat went back to its owner.

This repower replaced the boat's existing outboard with a new Mercury, giving the owner updated performance, reliability and the confidence of a new power package.

A repower is not just a new engine on the transom. The controls, the harness, the gauges and the rigging all have to come together with it, and the engine has to be programmed and run before the boat is worth handing back.

The work

The repower included:

  • Removal of the existing outboard
  • Installation and rigging of the new Mercury outboard
  • Connection and setup of the engine controls and onboard systems
  • Configuration and programming of the new engine
  • Final system checks and testing

The installation was completed as a full repower package, with each component properly set up to work together before the boat was returned to the owner.

Why we like these

A repower lets you keep the boat you already know and love while updating one of its most important systems.

New power can bring updated technology, improved performance and reliability, and a new factory warranty, without starting over with a different boat. And because a repower includes much more than simply hanging a new engine on the transom, it gives us the opportunity to make sure the controls, rigging and supporting systems are properly set up to work together.

For the right boat, it can be a very practical way to give it a new lease on life.
